One week after the #SwingTheVote and we’ve got off to a cracking start!
At the beginning of the week, I set up the ‘Register To Vote’ event on Facebook, which everyone can join to remind their friends to register to vote. We’ve already got over 300 attendees, so hopefully that means we’ve encouraged a few people who register who’d forgotten. One of the Team v leaders set up the ‘Swing The Vote’ event on Facebook which has a huge number of attendees, feel free to join.
During the week there was the leader’s debate. I’d say this was the first time I’ve really engaged in politics on TV and twitter at the same time. One of the main reasons for this would be that I don’t own a TV. Anyway, it was great fun! I had a huge amount of interaction on Twitter, really enjoyed the vInspired ‘Young People’s’ klaxons, and got annoyed at politicians not answering questions in real time, along with the rest of the country (rather thatn 24 hours later).
Over the weekend, we launched our ‘How Political Are You, Without Realising It?’ quiz. The aim of this is to encourage people who don’t believe that politics applies to them, to register to vote, by showing them that politics is more relevant to their lives then they may realise. Let me know what you think.
That pretty much sums up week one of campaigning.
